Phaetus Conch Hotend-X1 P1 Series Hotend Installation Guide
Phaetus currently offers three hotends compatible with the X1, namely the Standard Version, M6 Version, and Plus Version. The nozzle disassembly/assembly methods and materials of these three hotends vary, so you can select the one that best suits your actual usage requirements.
Pre-installation Preparation
First, power off the machine, then remove the original hotend by following the tutorial.
After that, transfer the fan from the removed hotend to the new hotend.
Installation Steps for Different Versions of Hotends
Standard Conch Hotend or plus (compatible with Bambu lab X1/P1)
If you are using the Standard Conch Hotend compatible with Bambu X1/P1, remove the heating assembly from the original hotend and install it on the new hotend. Note that a thin layer of thermal grease must be applied to the surface of the new hotend where the heating assembly will be mounted.
M6 Version of X1 Hotend
If you have purchased the M6 Version of the X1 Hotend, follow these installation steps:
1. Install the heating assembly as shown in the video tutorial, beginning with removing the heating assembly from the original hotend.
2. Apply a thin layer of thermal grease to the surface of the new hotend.
3. Mount the heating assembly onto the new hotend by following the tutorial.
It should be noted that the M6 hotend features a different installation method compared to the other two integrated hotend models. If you are using the M6 hotend, please perform the standard hotend installation procedure in accordance with the relevant tutorial.
Notes on Hot Well Operation
When performing the hot well operation, it is recommended to set the nozzle temperature to any value between 200 and 250 degrees Celsius. Once the temperature is reached, use an open-end wrench to gently tighten the nozzle, taking care not to apply excessive force. Then wait for the nozzle to cool down before installing the silicone protective cover.
