Frequently Asked Questions About Bambu Lab Rotary Attachment

Which printers are compatible, and which version should I choose?

The H2 Series (Laser) version supports H2D Laser, H2S Laser, and H2C Laser with the latest printer firmware. R1 uses a separate version whose package includes an additional installation bracket. Match the version to your machine and follow its dedicated guide. This attachment does not add laser capability to a non-laser printer by itself.

Can I engrave tapered tumblers, handled mugs, or small objects?

Suitable tapered tumblers can be processed in Revolve Shape Processing mode, subject to the official geometry and size limits. Remove detachable handles before processing and check rotation clearance; do not assume a fixed-handle mug is compatible. For H2 Series (Laser), the workpiece diameter range is 57–105 mm. Small objects such as rings and spheres are not supported. Being able to clamp an object does not guarantee it can be processed.

Should I use Cylinder Processing or Revolve Shape Processing?

Use Cylinder Processing for regular cylinders with a consistent diameter, entering the required dimensions manually. Revolve Shape Processing relies on measurement and is intended for suitable tapered or contoured rotational shapes. Choose the mode that matches the workpiece geometry. Cylinder Processing is not a universal workaround for failed measurements on irregular objects.

What should I check if measurement fails or the engraving looks distorted?

For H2 Series (Laser), check the designated attachment position, unobstructed positioning mark, clamping, and leveling. During image capture, keep the front laser safety window closed and the rotation axis close to horizontal, as specified in the official guide. Highly reflective or short workpieces may produce unstable measurements. Stop if movement is abnormal or collision is suspected. If problems persist, contact Bambu Lab support; do not assume leveling alone will resolve them.

I’d love to see a newer laser head and, more importantly, improved camera-based positioning accuracy. Right now when I engrave a design, the camera alignment can be off by as much as ~5 mm, which makes it hard to get consistent results. It would also be great if deep engraving were supported.

The local dealers in my area all required a preorder before they could get this rotary attachment. Call3D had it in stock and shipped it quickly, which made the whole process much easier. It was convenient to order without waiting for local availability.

It’s been out of stock in New Zealand for a long time, so I ordered as soon as I saw it available here. It arrived in about 10 days, and everything went smoothly. Really happy with the purchase.

I checked the store and right now it only supports H2D. H2C still isn’t supported yet, so I guess I’ll wait for the OTA update—once it’s available for H2C, I’m in.
