A TPU feeding reliability upgrade for the TPU Feed Assist Module use case—designed to help flexible filament travel through a more controlled feeding path, reducing common failure modes like buckling, binding, and inconsistent resistance that can lead to grinding, jams, and failed prints. In real-world testing, the biggest benefit was print stability/success rate (especially on long runs), while final surface quality looked largely unchanged when comparing prints with and without the TPU module—TPU tuning (temperature/speed/retraction) still matters. As a practical guideline, treat 85A TPU as the safe baseline: ultra-soft TPU (e.g., around 60A) was reported to jam and fail in testing.

Does it work with AMS?

AMS automatic loading/unloading is not supported for this setup. You’ll need an external spool holder. You can route filament via the AMS HT TPU outlet to help keep TPU dry.

Left vs right installation — what should I choose?

Right-side installation is typically preferred if you want to keep the other hotend usable. Left-side installation may interfere with dual-hotend operation depending on motion/clearance. Follow the official guide and verify clearance on your printer.
