This 1.75mm diameter Kexcelled BVOH Filament delivers precision engineering for users who demand reliable water-soluble support material. Engineered with tight ±0.01–0.03 mm diameter tolerance and stable extrusion flow, it ensures consistent performance across complex FDM/FFF prints. Broad material compatibility and moisture-protective packaging preserve filament quality, enabling cleaner support removal for internal cavities, intricate geometries, and delicate surfaces. Ideal for multi-material assemblies where predictable dissolution and minimal post-processing matter.

Why Upgrade to BVOH Filament?

Water-soluble support is worth using when the model has geometry that cannot be cleaned safely with breakaway support. For hollow parts, internal channels, enclosed lattice structures, deep cavities, delicate overhangs, moving mechanisms, and hard-to-reach support interfaces, cutting or peeling support by hand can damage the part or leave material trapped inside. A soluble support material lets the support dissolve away in water, so complex shapes can be printed with cleaner internal surfaces, less manual cleanup, and lower risk of breaking fine details.

With water-soluble support, users can print parts that would otherwise be too difficult, too risky, or too time-consuming to finish by hand, including functional prototypes, internal ducting, enclosed mechanical features, and display parts where surface quality matters.

Better Than PVA Material

BVOH is the better choice than standard PVA when the job needs faster cleanup, broader material compatibility, and more stable long prints. It dissolves faster in water, leaves less sticky residue, and is easier to clean from small internal cavities, enclosed lattice structures, and delicate support interfaces.

Compared with typical PVA support material, BVOH offers a much wider compatibility range. Standard PVA often struggles with higher-temperature materials such as PETG, PA nylon, and PC because heat, moisture, and poor material matching can lead to degradation, separation, nozzle contamination, or failed support interfaces. BVOH can be used with PLA, ABS, ASA, PETG, PC, and TPU, making it a stronger option for engineering-material prints and multi-material support jobs.

BVOH also has better practical print stability than PVA for long support-heavy prints. PVA absorbs moisture easily and can degrade or carbonize under heat, increasing the risk of nozzle clogs during extended jobs. BVOH is more tolerant in longer continuous prints, helps reduce stringing and drooping, keeps support boundaries cleaner, and usually gives users a wider, easier-to-tune printing window.

Reference dissolution comparison under similar support thickness:

- 22°C water: PVA about 75 min; BVOH about 45 min
- 50°C warm water: PVA about 40 min; BVOH about 22 min

Can I use BVOH as a support material for nylon?

A: Yes, BVOH can be used as a soluble support material for PA nylon, but the removal process needs extra care. Nylon is moisture-sensitive and can absorb water during the BVOH dissolution step, which may change the printed part’s mechanical properties, dimensional stability, or surface condition. For nylon prints, minimize soaking time, use the shortest effective dissolution process, and dry the part properly afterward if performance matters.

How should I store this BVOH filament after opening?

BVOH is highly moisture-sensitive. After opening, reseal the filament immediately or store it in a dry box. Keep it in a dry environment around 15–25°C to help maintain feeding stability, support quality, and dissolution performance.
